Dr.
William Crump
Dr. Crump is Associate Dean of the Trover Campus and
Professor of Family Medicine at U of L. A
graduate of Vanderbilt Medical School, he completed residency
at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a Faculty
Development Fellowship at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. He was a faculty member at the regional
campus at Huntsville, Alabama for almost 10 years and Assistant
Dean and Director of Rural Programs at the University of
Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for almost 6 years prior
to his move to Madisonville in 1998. Concerning his activities
in Madisonville, Dr. Crump says: "I feel that I've
been preparing for this job my entire professional life.
It's a challenge I truly enjoy."
Mr. Steve Fricker

Steve Fricker is the Director of Rural Health/Student
Affairs with the Trover Campus. He is primarily responsible
for issues relating to admissions, financial aid, student
records, registrar functions, student health services
and other student affairs matters. He also directs the
Western Kentucky Telehealth Training Center which provides
interactive televideo services to numerous health facilities
in west Kentucky. He has over 20 years experience in
health and social services in Tennessee and Kentucky
and joined the Trover Health System in 2000. A Ph.D.
Candidate in Applied Medical Anthropology, he has worked
with a number of rural Kentucky communities using a community
development model to improve local health care services.
Steve shares this experience with the students in the
Trover programs as they work with their individual community
assessment projects. Regarding the Trover Campus, Steve
says "the blend of a strong community focus and
personal attention to student development makes the Trover
experience exciting and very enriching for staff and
student alike."
Ms. Wanda Sauer
Wanda Sauer is the Clerkships Coordinator for the U of L Trover Campus. She is responsible for student records, communication with faculty and curriculum coordination. In addition she is primarily responsible for supporting the M-3 and M-4 students. She also provides staff support for the interactive teleconferencing of M-3 and M-4 classes for the Trover Campus students. She says: "It will be exciting to watch the students grow, learn and accomplish their goals in becoming the physicians of tomorrow for rural areas."
Ms. Pam Carter
Ms. Carter is the Administrative Secretary for the Student
Affairs office of the Trover Campus. She provides the
primary staff support for summer programs which include
the High School Rural Scholars, Trover Rural Scholars, Trover Rural Interim Session,
Prematriculation and Preclinical programs. Ms. Carter
also provides staff support for the interactive teleconferencing
of M-3 and M-4 classes for Trover Campus students. Ms.
Carter says: "Working with the students is very
rewarding. The Trover Campus is a great place for both
students and staff."
Trover Health System
Dr. Dan Martin
Dr. Dan Martin serves as the liaison from the Education
Division of the Trover Health System to the Trover Campus
leadership. Dr. Martin earned his MD degree from Harvard
Medical School and served a residency at the University
of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. Joining Trover
in 1965, he has been the Director of the Education Division
during a period of remarkable growth. He has been involved
in every detail of the Trover Campus development from
the beginning. He also teaches community medicine topics
to Trover Campus students and serves as the Health Officer
for Hopkins County. Concerning the fruition of his many
years of planning, Dr. Martin says of having M-3 and
M-4 students living and working in Madisonville: "This
is the welcomed culmination of ideas and discussions
with Dr. Loman Trover that are at least twenty-five years
old."
Mr. Bob Brooks

Mr. Bob Brooks is VP for Education and Research for the
Trover Health System. Mr. Brooks' education includes a
bachelor's degree in Special Education from the University
of Arkansas and graduate work in Public Administration
from Kentucky State University. He served as the Director
for the Office of Health Education in the Arizona State
Health Department for five years prior to joining Trover
in 1986 as AHEC Director. In 1989 he assumed his current
position, and has been involved with all aspects of the
Trover Campus development. He has served as the Director
of the Kentucky Mississippi Delta State Network Development
program. This program has provided Trover Campus students
with a community laboratory for their exploration of the
health system and health care needs of rural people. Mr.
Brooks was involved in the development of the county level
Health Advisory Councils that facilitate Trover Campus
students' community assessments. Concerning the Trover
Campus, Mr. Brooks notes: "The Trover Campus is unique
because it provides an environment for the student that
promotes learning and personal growth and at the same time
bridges the gap between an academic medical center and
the community."
Ms. Leigh England
Ms. Leigh England is the Director of Education for the
Trover Health System Education Division. After completing
a degree in Health Administration at the University of
Kentucky in 1990, she joined the Education Division working
as a Clinical Education Coordinator for the West AHEC office.
During her tenure with AHEC, she served as Assistant Director
and Director, accepting her current position with the Education
Division in 2005. Ms. England manages the day-to-day operation
of the departments within the Education Division and is
very involved in many of the Trover Campus programs. When
reflecting on her work with medical and allied health students, Ms. England
says "having worked with many students over the years,
from health careers recruitment activities and summer programs
to clinical training, the most rewarding aspect is seeing
them return to the area to practice and provide needed
health care services to communities in our region."
West Kentucky AHEC
Ms. Tricia Jordan

Tricia Jordan, PhD serves as the Director of the West Kentucky AHEC. Dr. Jordan's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Community Recreation from the University of Northern Iowa, graduate degrees in Communication and Recreation Administration from Western Kentucky University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Louisville in Educational Leadership and Organization Development. Prior to her appointment as the Director of West AHEC, Dr. Jordan served as Trover Health System’s Community Health Program Manager. She has also served as the Director of the United Way of Hopkins County and as a Senior Program Director at the Henderson County Family YMCA, and Youth Sports Director at the Hopkins County Family YMCA in Kentucky. When reflecting on the work of West AHEC, Dr. Jordan says, through West AHEC’s community partnerships we have a unique opportunity to introduce students to health professions, provide continuing education for health care professionals, work with community partners to champion community health initiatives, and provide clinical opportunities for the training of future health care professionals in rural communities. All of these activities allow West AHEC to connect health care professionals to communities thereby helping each community within our region address their existing health care needs.
